Mucopren® adhesive for Mucopren® Soft is used to achieve the desired bond between the denture base and the soft liner. The subsequent procedure is essential for achieving an optimal and lasting bond between both materials.
For optimal adhesion, apply the Mucopren® adhesive twice (always allowing it to dry in between). The adhesive is ultimately activated once combined with the Mucopren® Soft material, before finishing, after being placed in a warm water bath for the prescribed time and temperature.
The durability therefore depends on activating this special Mucopren® Soft adhesive from Kettenbach Dental. By placing the denture with the soft liner immediately after removal into a warm water bath (50–60 °C) for 15–20 minutes, a lasting and effective bond between Mucopren® Soft and the denture material is achieved.
Mucopren® for direct and indirect application.
Clean the denture thoroughly with water only and dry. Then remove an even layer of denture material until optimal space for the relining material is created. For a smooth transition from the permanently soft Mucopren® Soft to the denture base resin in the vestibular area, it is recommended to mill a rectangular edge.
Thinly coat the prepared, roughened, and cleaned denture surface twice with Mucopren® Soft adhesive, leaving 30 seconds between applications, and allow to dry thoroughly before proceeding. It is important that the adhesive is applied over the rectangular edge.
The adhesive is ultimately activated once combined with the Mucopren® Soft material, before finishing, after being placed in a warm water bath for the prescribed time and temperature.
By placing the denture with the soft liner immediately after removal into a water bath (50–60 °C) for 15–20 minutes, a lasting and effective bond between Mucopren® and the denture material is achieved. For indirect relining, in order to achieve equal curing time, the relining device or flask must be placed in a pressure pot with warm water at 45–50 °C for at least 30 minutes. Afterwards, any sealed denture with or without plaster model can be placed in the pressure pot (45–50 °C) for at least 45 minutes.
Local finishing is carried out by first removing excess material with fine scissors. For rough trimming, steel burs with cross-cut for soft relining materials are suitable, followed by specially designed polishing instruments to achieve a smooth, seamless surface. The trimmed acrylic surfaces can be polished in the usual way. If Mucopren® Soft sealing silicone is used, any polishing paste applied to the Mucopren® Soft must first be thoroughly removed (hot water) before brushing.
