Futar® is used for reliable bite registration, among other applications. Futar® “green” is less hard than Futar® D “red” and, thanks to its low modulus of elasticity, is particularly suitable for an occlusal end-to-end bite. With Futar® you gain more reliability and ease of use. Available as a 50 ml cartridge system, including the corresponding mixing tips. The Futar® materials differ only in terms of working time, intraoral setting time, and final hardness.
With Futar® as a sprayable addition-curing silicone, you can achieve highly precise registrations. Futar® Fast and Futar® “green” are preferably used occlusally in cases of complete bite registration (“horseshoe”).
Futar® is also highly suitable for rapid functional border moulding. For optimal adhesion to the tray margins, always apply Panasil® Adhesive (REF 14101) beforehand.
Thanks to their high final hardness, Futar® materials are exceptionally easy to mill.
For accurate bite registration, seat the patient upright and apply a sufficient amount of Futar® material occlusally. Within the working time, gently and naturally guide the patient into the desired occlusal position.
Futar® Product Family
The Futar® product family consists of seven different variants for bite registration and other clinical applications. Futar® and Futar® Fast “green” as well as Futar® Easy and Futar® Easy Fast are the “softer” versions (Shore D 90), whereas Futar® D and Futar® D Fast “red” offer a higher Shore hardness of D 43.
Futar® D Fast and Futar® D “red” are particularly suitable for “closed bite” registrations with buccal and/or labial impressions of the desired position, reducing the risk of post-treatment bite elevation. Futar® Fast and Futar® “green” as well as Futar® Easy and Futar® Easy Fast are preferred for complete occlusal (“horseshoe”) registrations thanks to their flexibility.
Futar® D Slow is used as a fixation material in edentulous implant impressions, in combination with pressure-free impression materials such as Panasil® Contact Two-in-One Light or the even thinner Panasil® Contact Plus X-Light. Additionally, Futar® D Slow is highly versatile for a wide range of dental laboratory indications and applications.
