Mucopren® Soft for direct and indirect application.
Clean the denture thoroughly with water only and dry. Then remove an even layer of denture material until optimal space for the relining material is created. For a good transition from the permanently soft Mucopren® Soft to the denture base resin in the vestibular area, it is recommended to mill a rectangular edge.
Thinly coat the prepared, roughened, and cleaned denture surface with the improved adhesive and allow it to dry thoroughly before proceeding. It is important that the adhesive is also applied over the rectangular edge. With the direct technique, activation of the adhesive using time and temperature (water bath) is no longer required with the improved adhesive, allowing the desired result to be achieved more quickly. For the indirect technique, a water bath (pressure pot – 50 °C) is still required, but now only for 3 minutes instead of the previous 30 minutes. Afterwards, if sealing silicone has also been used, place the denture with or without the plaster model in the pressure pot. Again, this now requires much less time than before (only 45 seconds at 50 °C).
Local finishing is done by first removing excess material with fine scissors. For rough trimming, steel burs with cross-cut for soft relining materials are suitable, followed by specially designed polishing instruments to achieve a smooth and seamless surface. The trimmed acrylic surfaces can be polished in the usual way. If Mucopren® Soft sealing silicone is used, any polishing paste applied to the Mucopren® Soft must first be thoroughly removed (hot water) before brushing.
